When it comes to filler injection procedures, the application of proper techniques is undeniably important, but it is just as important to assess whether the filler injection will produce desirable results for the individual or whether it needs to be combined with another procedure. For instance, let’s suppose you have prominent cheekbones that protrude sideways. You should think twice before getting a filler injection under your eyes to get rid of the dark circles, as your cheekbones will overwhelm your face. Also, for those with a lot of under-eye fat, filler injections will not be very effective. This is why we consult our patients in depth in advance to make sure that they can obtain satisfying results.

Minimizing Swelling
and Bruising

At Modelo, we use microcannulas specifically designed for filler and Botox injection procedures in order to minimize swelling and bruising. Microcannulas have blunt tips that do not cause any damage to the blood vessels and prevent the substance from being injected into a blood vessel, which can lead to serious consequences. The needles are flexible and can be used to inject the material into several different places. Compared to regular needles, microcannulas result in minimal bruising, swelling, pain, and adverse effects.

Little to No Pain

At Modelo, we inject the filler accurately at an appropriate depth, so the procedure is over very quickly and causes little to no pain. Filler injection procedure should cause almost no pain at all, except a bit of stiffness, if it is injected accurately. However, in the case of under-eye filler injections, for example, if it is injected too deep into the skin, thereby irritating the surrounding muscles and nerves, it will be quite painful. Inexperienced doctors likely have not developed a sense of depth when it comes to filler injection procedures and may touch the surrounding muscles or nerves, which can cause a great deal of pain for the patient. With experience, however, doctors can sense where the tip of the needle is touching and have a better control of it. Locating the exact depth where the injection should be administered to minimize unnecessary pain, that is one of the know-hows and skills that the Modelo dermatologists have gained through extensive clinical experience.
